L925B optical fiber mechanical splice is developed for any mechanical connection combination of bare fiber 250μm and tight buffer 900 μm cable. It is filled with special gel of the same refractive index as glass, allowing quick and stable connection of two optical fibers by simply pressing the cover lock.
It is easy to operate and fast to assembly, providing a cost-effective alternative to fiber mating by fusion splicer. Operator could finish the work by simple tools of fiber cleaning wipes, stripper and cleaver, and get the job done less than 2 minutes.
It has no strict requirement on the flatness of the fiber end face and no need for field polishing, which lowers skilled labor demand and greatly increases efficiency. It is widely used in splicing and restoration for damaged network lines.
